Joshua James Jewellery Haul

Posted in family, fashion, gifts, jewellery
on February 16, 2016

Earlier this month I took part in a blog post on Joshua James Jewellery’s website, which you can view here, all about the perfect Valentine’s gifts and I was kindly asked by them if I would like to review a couple of items from their amazingly vast range of jewellery brands. It took me ages to decide as there are some many gorgeous pieces, but I finally settled on three of my absolute favourites and I couldn’t wait to share them with you all.

Fossil Ladies Rose Gold Signature Bangle £39.20
I was lucky enough to be sent three pieces of jewellery, and I had picked each one in rose gold, as this has been my favourite gold tone way before the likes of Zoella raved about it. I chose the Fossil Ladies Rose Gold Signature Bangle as I thought it was super pretty but wearable on a day-to-day basis. I have heard of Fossil as a brand before, but hadn’t really had the chance to check out their jewellery collection and so this was my first Fossil item. It came fabulously packaged in a little drawstring dust bag, inside a cool keepsake tin, which is totally reusable for keeping other small items of jewellery in and perfect for travelling.

The bangle is made from stainless steel, coated in a beautiful rose gold, and it is a hinged bracelet, making it much easier to get on and off for those that struggle with bangles. On one of the hinged sides is a tiny printed key, this is then pressed to open the bangle. It has a charming cutout flower pattern all along both sides, and looks great either on it’s own or worn with other bangles and bracelets. Fossil is available at Joshua James Jewellery here.

Chrysalis Happiness Rose Gold Expandable Bangle £25
For Valentine’s Day, my friend Jenny (whose blog you can check out here), kindly sent me a beautiful Chrysalis bangle and I loved the concept of them. Chrysalis have a wide range of bangles and bracelets, in a multitude of finishes with a variety of meanings behind them, which you can wear alone or collect and stack them up on your wrist. Obviously, I chose the rose gold version, with the meaning of Happiness – each bangle comes in a Chrysalis pouch, with a little card to give you information as to what each bangle stands for, which I think is such a cute touch.

At £25 each, they are the perfect present price point, and they are definitely something I would like to build on, as there are bangles for Mum, Daughter, cat lovers and many, many more. The bangles are easy to get onto the wrist, as they are expandable, so should also fit a variety of wrist sizes, and each one has two little charms dangling from the bangle. The charms on the Happiness bangle are two gorgeous floral designs, which make a sweet jingling sound when worn. Chrysalis is available at Joshua James Jewellery here.

Thomas Sabo Rose Gold Quartz Solitaire Ring £105
Eeeeek! This was definitely the piece of jewellery I was most looking forward to! I had actually put this on my Christmas list for last year, but sadly Santa didn’t deliver, however, Joshua James Jewellery certainly did! This gorgeous, beautiful, pretty, stunning, just plain perfect Thomas Sabo ring is made from 925 sterling silver, with 18k rose gold plating, with a generously-sized rose quartz stone being the centre of attention.

I think light shades of pink and rose gold are definitely the dreamy pairing when it comes to jewellery, and this ring is no exception. I love (there’s going to be a lot of ‘love’ and ‘like’ in this post!) the face that it is a stunning piece of jewellery, but again, something I can wear on a daily basis, with it not being overly blingy. Even though it is quite a delicate looking piece of jewellery, it is certainly a sturdy, quality piece, which one wouldn’t expect any less of when it comes to Thomas Sabo. You can check out Thomas Sabo at Joshua James Jewellery here.

Christmas: Morgan Taylor Gifts

on October 6, 2015

Morgan Taylor have released their Christmas range and it is stunning! They have brought out gift sets which include two full-sized nail polishes and an added extra gift, all with different themes for different tastes. I recently got two of these fab sets to share with you gorgeous bunch…

morgan taylor 1

Gifted With Travel
This set includes a full-sized bottle of Ruby Two-Shoes nail polish, which is a slightly shimmery pink-red shade and a full-sized bottle of Tinsel My Fancy nail polish, which is a metallic silver shade, but has lots and lots of tiny multi-faceted flecks of glitter, which give off a slightly pale green/lilac shade – think Frozen perhaps. The extra gift included with this duo is such a cute one – it is a luggage tag in the shape of a large Morgan Taylor nail polish – you will definitely be able to spot your suitcase on the carousel with this beauty!

Gifted With Bling
This duo of nail polishes includes the shades A Little Naughty and Gifted in Platinum. A Little Naughty is a gorgeous plum shade, perfect for Autumn/Winter and even taking you into Spring, whereas Gifted in Platinum reminds me so much of a diamond ring! It is a lighter silver metallic than Tinsel My Fancy, but has millions of tiny silver glitter, making it more of a white toned polish than grey. The bonus gift with this set is a pretty gold-toned bangle, which has a strip of crystals along the length of it, and would make an amazing gift on it’s own!

Both of these fabulous gifts cost £16.99 each and will be available from Sallys Stores or online here from October 1st.

The Fall 2015 Jewellery Report

Posted in fashion, jewellery
on September 29, 2015

The carwash pleats, pointed collars, and statement white blouse might have been at the forefront of the Fall Fashion Shows, but if you thought that the clothes were the only focus of Fashion Week, you thought wrong. The designer’s ability to accessorize also takes the spotlight because a bag, shoes and jewellery are just as important as the design of the clothes itself. Just as a loose gold chain necklace can add that extra “oomph” to a look, it can easily clash with another outfit and make it appear less than appealing.

Instead of looking at all the shoe and bag trends, Jo Delaney is going to be nitpicky and check out the kind of jewellery she expects to see a lot this season.

All About Fringe
From the fringe bandeau bikinis to retro-fringed backpacks, people are definitely in a fringe frenzy this year. The detailing gives a trendy, Bohemian vibe, and just as Harper’s Bazaar describe, the fringe on jewellery lends fluid movement to each limb.

1

Baroque Accessories
Add some drama to your OOTD with ornate, extravagant pieces inspired by 17th- and 18th-Century European architecture and culture. Often characterised by complexity, flamboyance or grotesque as outlined on Halcraft, strutting down the street with baroque jewels will make you feel like you’re walking down the halls in the Palace of Versailles.

2

Flower Power
Street Chic Jewellery predicted that one of the trends for this season would be florals, and they were right. This style has the power to remain relevant throughout the year because it adds a soft, feminine touch to anything you choose to wear. Whether it’s a flower necklace, ring, bracelet or brooch, your outfit will be blooming in the middle of fall.

3

Single Earring
Time and time again, designers have traveled the unconventional route to create a bold, asymmetrical silhouette, so if asymmetry can work with our clothes, why can’t we do the same with our jewellery? Stylists from Elle have loads of recommended earrings you can wear as a single earpiece, but if you’re going for an edgier look, try the House of Harlow 1960 Kay Marquis Left Ear Cuff, courtesy of Lyst. The spikes will add a cool, avant garde touch to your outfit.

4

Jo Delaney: Jo first fell in love with fashion when she was a little girl, flipping through her mother’s vintage Vogues. Currently she contributes to several fashion websites, as well as a weekly style column for her local newspaper. When she’s not obsessing over the latest trends, she likes to paint and experiment with DIY projects.

Mini H&M Accessories Haul

Posted in fashion, gifts, haircare, jewellery
on April 23, 2015

On Easter weekend I woke up to not one single chocolate egg – my Dad had forgotten! Therefore he allowed me to place a mini H&M order as I had seen so many gorgeous accessories perfect for summer and my upcoming holiday to Orlando and as they are all so pretty I thought I would share them with you.

DSCF9243

Floral Bracelet £5.99
This is the most expensive item on my mini haul, and let’s face it, it isn’t anywhere near the price of Topshop’s jewellery. It is part of H&M’s Coachella range and I just love it! It is a wire bracelet filled with large flowers, crystals and pearls. It is quite a large piece for a bracelet but I love the different colours and textures, plus it is suitable for most wrist sizes as it has a lobster claw clasp with an extender chain.

DSCF9244

Floral Headband £2.99
This is such a bargain at £2.99! It is one of the elasticised headbands and the base colour is a natural beige so if you are a blonder/light brunette you probably wouldn’t notice the band itself. Like the bracelet, this has larger flowers, and much smaller ones, in shades of white, blue, yellow and pink.

DSCF9245

Bunny Keyring £1.99
I just could not resist this sweet little bunny keyring and am thinking of adding it as a bag charm. It is made out of pleather and the peach coloured bow is just the cutest! It has gold hardware and it was actually from the Children’s section if I remember rightly, but I think it is perfect for girls of any age!

DSCF9248

Pink Hairclip Trio £1.99
I wear hair clips pretty much everyday, as it helps keep my fringe out of my way, or to clip back little plaits. This bright, summery trio includes two claw clips, one with a neon pink flower and one with a neon orange flower – both are quite a good size, with the third clip being on a kirby grip. The third one is a pretty pink butterfly, which no doubt my 5 year old Goddaughter will try to claim haha!

DSCF9249

Blue Hairclip Trio £1.99
I couldn’t get enough of these hair clips trios and at £1.99 they are such good value as they do not look cheap in the slightest. This one includes a larger blue flower, a cream and yellow flower duo and lastly a blue, cream and purple trio, with all three clips being the claw clip type, which I find super easy to pop in my hair.

DSCF9247

30 Pack of Gold Kirby Grips £1.99
As I recently had lots of bright blonde highlights, I needed some hair grips to replace my dark brown ones and I loved these shiny gold ones which are much jazzier than the regular blonde grips.

I am more than pleased with my purchases and love every single one of them! Which shops do you recommend for jewellery and hair accessories? Let me know in the comments below.

You can purchase any of these items in store or online here.
