GracieFace Designs

GracieFace is an original brand which pride themselves on their attitude and charisma. They believe that this is the reason that they have already built such a strong following and support base. North London based, they bespoke design and print their ranges locally in order to keep the brand as true British as possible. With over ten years in the industry across many product areas and aspects, they have the experience and expertise to keep delivering individuality and trend inspired ranges.

When contacted by GracieFace we were asked whether we would like to pick something from their online store or whether we would like something more personalised. As we love love love personalised items, we asked if we could have a t-shirt made with The Kats Paws on it.

The t-shirt arrived wrapped carefully in tissue paper with the GracieFace logo applied to the front of the parcel. I straightaway noticed the quality of the t-shirt, the cotton was thick and soft and I loved the fact that the short sleeves on the t-shirt were folded over making it a little bit edgier than your average t-shirt. On the back of the t-shirt is the GracieFace logo letting people know you have something unique on.

GracieFace sell on Etsy, on their website and also on ASOS Marketplace. Other slogans include Boom Shacka Lacka, Sup Bro, and Social Network Jerk for just £24 each.

Black Magic Tanning Mousse and Applicator Mit

Black Magic Tanning Mousse

This self-tanning product comes in a easy push down applicator bottle. The mousse is super lightweight, easy-to-apply and is designed to bronze all skin types. The bespoke formulation incorporates a pharmaceutical blend of Organic Eco-Cert DHA and cosmetic bronzer. The scent is almost like chocolate and lingers on the skin ever so slightly. It disperses easily and also moisturises the skin. It leaves a lovely sheen to the skin and application is quick and easy. The mousse didn’t feel sticky on my skin and with it being a dark colour rather than a transparent formula it was easy for me to see the places I had missed. Within a few hours the tan was developing into a natural gold colour than was not too dark. There were no streaks or patches and the results were quite even. I did ensure that I exfoliated well before application and for those of you who like a darker tan, you can add another layer on the next day. The tan did tend to fade fairly evenly and again I didn’t look like I had a serious skin condition. For the best looking results I did find that it is best to reapply every three days.

Black Magic Applicator Mitt

This soft mitt is designed to stop the tanning solution from staining your hands. Every bottle of the Black Magic Tanning Mousse does come with it’s very own Applicator Mitt. Simply pump the mousse out into the middle of the mitt and apply to the skin in a circular motion to give a very even application. Alternatively it can be used to blend or pat down spray tans.

You can purchase these products and more from and the Tanning Mousse retails at £19 and the Applicator Mitt retails at £7.

Luxurious Volume Hair Care by John Frieda

No matter what products I use, my hair is often flat as a pancake. No amount of fluffing and poufing and spraying helps. Therefore I was very excited to try out the new Luxurious Volume range by John Frieda.

Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Shampoo and Conditioner

The first Luxurious Volume products I tried were the Touchably Full Shampoo and Conditioner. The shampoo is designed to gently cleanse your hair to remove any product residue to leave your hair clean, fresh and volumised. This is something I like in a shampoo as it feels like it is actually doing it’s job properly. Even though it creates a good lather, this shampoo is very easy to wash out and leaves your hair feeling lovely and refreshed.

After shampooing I then used the Touchably Full Conditioner. The conditioner is meant to give weightless conditioning to leave your hair feeling soft and full of volume. Despite the consistency being quite thin, this conditioner left my hair feeling really soft and healthy. These two products worked really well together and I loved the natural looking lift they give the roots of my hair. I also noticed that the lengths of my hair were much fuller looking and not limp as they so often are.

Luxurious Volume Fine To Full Blow-Out Spray

The Fine To Full Blow-Out Spray is a pump action bottle which I love because I always think that the aerosol sprays have an alcohol/chemical smell to them, whereas this smells fresh and invigorating, much like the shampoo and conditioner. I spray the product on to my hair before blow drying and I found that it doesn’t weigh the hair down but still gives it volume throughout. You can also double this with a styling cream if you want to curl or flat iron your hair after blow drying.

You can purchase the Luxurious Volume range by John Frieda from stores such as Superdrug, Boots and leading supermarkets. The Touchably Full Shampoo and Conditioner retail at £5.99 each and the Fine To Full Blow-Out Spray retails at £6.99.

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

Self-tanning can often be a nightmare… we have all gone through the ‘tangerine’ look at some point or another. I recently purchased the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster which allows you to transform any of your existing skincare products into a tan/skincare hybrid. This enables you to use your moisturiser alongside this product which means no more moisturising and drying before applying your regular self tanning product.

The Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster is a little glass bottle filled with a concentration of self tanning active ingredients and when added to your existing moisturising cream, gel or serum, and applied to the skin, it works the same as a normal self tanning product would do. It interacts with amino acids in the corneal layer to activate skin colouring. The difference being that you can tailor the amount of concentrate you put into the cream, allowing you to create your very own made-to-measure tan.

The tiny 15ml glass bottle looks rather unassuming at first, however you only need 1-3 drops with every use depending on the depth of tan you are wanting and so it lasts a lot longer than one would first assume. All you need to do is press the bottom to dispense three drops for a deep tan or just one for a really natural look. Another appealing factor is that the application is even, non-patchy and streak-free. It even managed to fade completely rather than me looking like I have a skin condition. Although my absolute favourite feature of this tanning product is that it has a patented odourless formulation – soooo many self tanning products state that they are odourless but smell worse than a pair of very old trainers – NOT attractive.

You can purchase the Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster from for £18. They are currently celebrating their 7th birthday and have a fantastic free offer with a spend of £60 or over.

Hugo Frosch Eco Hot Water Bottle

Cold, sunny, raining, hot, these last few weeks the weather can’t seem to make its mind up! One minute we have the heating on and the next we are turning it off. Therefore, when you’re feeling a little chilly, hot water bottles are a really good idea, instead of spending more money on extortionate heating bills. They’re the perfect pick-me-up when the weather is having it’s mood swings.

The Eco Hot Water Bottle by Hugo Frosch is an innovative and forward looking hot water bottle with a completely new material composition that is free of both PVC and softening agents. This hot water bottle has been manufactured on a sustainable and resource-saving basis, which maintains its shape when cold and only becomes pleasantly soft and cuddly on being filled with hot water. It has a patented safety fastener and is available with a wide range of classic and modern covers.

The bottles are good quality and the cover is soft and comfortable, conducting plenty of heat without being uncomfortably hot. They retain heat well and I found that it was still slightly warmer than room temperature in the morning rather than being stone cold. They also come with a two year leak-proof guarantee :)

You can purchase the Eco Hot Water Bottle from websites including for around £19.99.

Save The Blow Dry

Whilst we are on the subject of hair, let us introduce to you Save The Blow Dry. I must admit shower caps have never really been my thing, they are often tight and my hair ends up slipping out of the cap as it is quite long. Plus, the ones I have used have often turned my hair into a frizzy nightmare within 30 minutes of relaxing bathing.

Save The Blow Dry have created this amazing new shower cap. It has two layers, the outer layer has a gorgeous waterproof design with pictures of different hair tools, whilst the inner layer is made from super-absorbent micro weave towelling which helps humidity and condensation from building up inside the shower cap. The Save The Blow Dry shower cap also has a dual usage, by turning the cap inside out, it can be used to help aid your favourite hair mask or treatment.

I have been using the Save The Blow Dry shower cap for a few weeks now and I am truly impressed, I use it for shower and bath times when my hair doesn’t need washing. I also use it to keep my hair away from my face when I am removing my make up as I often end up with bits of moisturiser and face scrub in my hair which is a total pain in the bottom. It is definitely a quality product and I imagine it will last me years and as it is so roomy and comfortable I can fit all of my hair in without it falling into my face. Perfect!

Frizz Ease By John Frieda

John Frieda have just brought out some amazing new products for their Frizz Ease range, including the Miraculous Recovery Crème Serum, the Nourishing Oil Elixir and the Go Curlier Heat-Activated Spray. Here’s our thoughts on these fabulous new products…

Miraculous Recovery Crème Serum

This is an intense repair formula which helps prevent dry, frizzy hair and makes it silky smooth and healthier looking. It helps to eliminate frizz, repair damage, treat split ends and nourishes the hair and can be used on wet or dry hair.

To use, simply dispense one pump of the serum into your palm and rub your hands together and then distribute into the hair evenly throughout. With this product I did find that it works much better on the ends and would recommend not using on the roots of your hair. It has a really light textured feel and is not sticky in the slightest like a lot of serums tend to be and of course the smell is absolutely beautiful!

Nourishing Oil Elixir

This elixir is a little like a serum, and helps to nourish the hair and block frizz for much smoother, healthier hair. It contains Argan Oil which is very popular in the world of haircare at the moment. Texture wise, it is quite velvety feeling but not too thick or heavy and has a fresh fruity scent.

Again, with it being an oil, I would recommend not using it on the roots of your hair as it can sometimes make the hair look greasy. It is a similar usage process as the Crème Serum, simply dispense one pump of oil into your palm and rub your hands together and work through wet or dry hair to smooth out that frizz.

Go Curlier Heat-Activated Spray

This product is great for creating and tightening curls to give a bouncy salon-smooth style that can last up to 48 hours. This product also gives heat protection of up to 220 degrees centigrade and so if you are using curling tongs, you do not need to worry about the heat of the tongs damaging your hair. This product is not recommended for use on dry hair, but can be used on damp or wet hair. Simply use 10-16 sprays of the product, using more or less depending on your hair length and thickness and then blow dry using a diffuser. We tried out this product and it definitely gave our curls more definition but unfortunately they didn’t last 48 hours but definitely over 24 so perfect for a night out.

You can purchase the Frizz Ease range from stores such as Superdrug, Boots and leading supermarkets. The Miraculous Recovery Crème Serum retails at £6.29, the Nourishing Oil Elixir retails at £9.99 and the Go Curlier Heat-Activated Spray retails at £6.99.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mascara

Has anyone ever asked you the question ‘If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one item of make up, what would it be?’ Without a doubt, my answer would be mascara. It’s just an amazing invention really, isn’t it? If I’m having a no make up day and have to pop to the shops, I’m the type of person who still routes around in my bag for a quick coat of mascara before leaving the house.

There are so many mascaras out there that choosing one can be a fairly daunting task. Each claims to do something another doesn’t. Volume, length, coverage, separation, false lash effect, blacker than black, new formula, new scientific brush proven to do everything you can ever think of… They claim to do a LOT.

Therefore, I’m always on the look out to try something new, something that really DOES do everything it says on the tin and gives you the the world’s best lashes.

Copyright: Mad About Makeup

I tried out the 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mascara, in Black Tea.

My first impressions weren’t great. The mascara is in a lovely silver, shiny tube which looks really expensive, but it comes in a cardboard tube packaging, which, in all honesty, looks like a tampon. I apologise, but it’s true.

The tube itself though is lovely. The silver packaging makes it look really high end and the inscriptions on the tube are a lovely touch.

The brush itself is really great. I’m a big fan of a thin, long brush, as I personally think it gives the longest lash effect, which is then easy to build upon for the volume you desire. Therefore, this was great.

The Black tea fragrance wasn’t unpleasant but it wasn’t great. It smelt slightly like tea, but it wasn’t a smell that I instantly wanted to apply to my eyes. Slightly odd, but as I say, not exactly unpleasant.

The mascara is 100% natural, which is something that really attracts me to the product, and claims to lengthen, separate, thicken and gloss lashes using black tea, chocolate and berry pigments. Sounds more like a cake than a mascara, but a really good cake all the same.

It is gentle, containing provitamin B5, Vitamin E, oat and wheat protein which straightens the lashes. As I say, it claims to do a whole lot of stuff, yet there’s still something I’m not too sure about.

Yes, it’s extremely glossy, it separates the lashes and lengthens, but I felt like I had zero volume. It is a very natural looking mascara, which is ideal for day to day use but I wanted just that bit more volume for it to appeal.

Overall, I probably wouldn’t purchase this product myself, although the brand is brilliant. They also do blushes, lip products, eyeshadow, lip products and creams which I’d love to try out soon.

The mascara is £15, and would be perfect for vegans and people who love natural make up as it really is 100% Pure!

Back Nodger

Having a massage is possibly one of my most favourite things as I love relaxing and I do tend to tense my shoulders which results in too many knots. But massages aren’t cheap and can often be up to £70 for an hour and I definitely don’t always have that kind of money spare and so when we were recently sent a Back Nodger I couldn’t wait to give it a whirl. The Back Nodger is a great idea for self relief and can be used in between massage treatments to keep your back free from everyday stresses and tensions.

The Back Nodger is easy to use and feels like a thumb pressing deep into the places you cannot reach. Here’s a step by step guide on how to use it:

1: Hold the handle with two hands, one above the other

2: Position the red nodule of the massage head on a knot

3: Relax your shoulders and inhale deep through your nose. Exhale and relax

4: Apply targeted pressure into the knot by pushing the handle away from you

5: Stay relaxed and accept the pressure for one deep breath in and out

6: Move the Back Nodger head to a different spot within the same knot or on to a new knot

7: Repeat the process

The Back Nodger can be used on the neck, shoulder, lower back and hip and I was truly surprised by how much release it gave to my tense muscles. It really is easy to use and I now keep mine behind the sofa so that I can use it whilst I’m watching television or reading a book.

You can purchase the Back Nodger from for £29.99

New York Globee

I love having candles and pretty lights in my bedroom and this night light is no exception. I was lucky enough to go to New York for my 21st birthday with my family and friends and was even luckier to stay at The Plaza, which is the hotel which features in Home  Alone 2. We saw so many different sights, including Ground Zero, Times Square, the Empire State Building and of course Macy’s.

The Globee range is a miniature globe which lights up using three AA batteries and features different cities and countries from all around the world. It is a great learning tool for children wanting to know more about a particular city or country or simply as a reminder of a trip away.

The Globee comes with a miniature booklet which lists and gives information on all of the sights and places featured on the Globee. I thought this was such a great idea as you can learn more about each attraction or historical landmark and it even features a quiz at the back of the booklet.

The maps and pictures are beautifully illustrated with some fun, quirky parts to it and the range also includes umbrellas, money boxes, books and luggage tags and the New York Globee is just £9.99. You can see the full range at
